Just a quick update as nothing really happened here.<\/p>\n
From Ankanya I drove to Tartus in Siria and from there to Beiroet Libanon, after visiting Krak the Chevaliers near the Lebanese border.
\nI was not really planning to visit Lebanon, but thought I might give it a go as I was near the border, and got through in 30 minutes without having to pay a dollar! Not for the visa, not for the bike.
\nThis was the best border I have seen till now, there was even a sign that said what you had to pay and not to pay, and a complaint hotline…<\/p>\n
One thing if you plan to visit Lebanon by car and read the Lonely Planet of the Middle East, petrol price is not right… it is not 100LL but almost 2000LL for one litre Unleaded 95. 2000LL is 2.3 dollar!<\/p>\n
So I am stuck in Lebanon at the moment, applying for a Sudanese visa, this takes a week and in that week I am taking a dive course.
\nHaving some fun time in Beirut, as this is a very nice city, one that everyone should visit! So plan your next holiday to Lebanon, where you can do it all in one day. For instance: Ski in the morning, do some paragliding after that and take a scuba-dive in the afternoon!<\/p>\n
Anyway that’s me, no travelling at the moment, but some time to do a bit of maintenance on the bike after the first 5500km, which I did already.<\/p>\n
